55 Degrees North

Shown in the USA under the title "The Night Detective" as the UK title was thought to too confusing for American viewers! Only two series, and first shown in 2004. Starred Don Gilet as Nicky Cole a London detective who is banished to Newcastle on Tyne after blowing the whistle on one of his London superiors. The series had a special appeal for me, as, although I'm from the south of England, I was living very near to Newcastle when I emigrated to the States, and loved the whole north-east area.

Whether there was much music played in this show I don't recall. I have all the episodes on DVD somewhere.

Also starred Dervla Kirwan (ex Ballykissangel) and Andrew Dunn as the copper who at first takes a dislike to Cole but later teams up with him. I really enjoyed this.
